FTP Tutorial
Instructions for using
our FTP Server:
First, we'd like to recommend a freeware program for "ripping" your
audio from a CD to your computer to create the needed 44k/16-bit WAV
files.
Click
here to give FreeRip a try!
For Windows users, we recommend using the free
FTP Client program called
Core FTP. Download the
FTP Client program from
www.coreftp.com
(3MB).
Step 1)
Install the program.
Step 2)
Run the program.
Step 3)
Under "Site Manager" enter
the information below and use the username and
password we email to you after you
requested an FTP account.
Site Name: Diamondisc Audio
Host /IP / URL: diamondiscaudio.ftpaccess.cc
Username: The username we emailed to you.
Password: The password we emailed to you.
Leave all other fields that are filled in just as they are.
Click
screenshot for a larger version.

Step
4) Hit the "CONNECT" button
to login to our server. You will see the folder called "WAVs" if you are
logged in correctly.
Step
5) Once logged into your FTP account, you will be able to browse your
system (on the left side of the screen) and upload files directly to us
(our server shows up on the right).
Click screenshot for a larger version.

That's all there is to it!
Your profile will be saved under "Diamondisc Audio" in Core FTP
so you can come back later and use it again.
Macintosh Users
For anyone connecting to our FTP server using a Macintosh we recommend
using
Fetch. Fetch
is considered the de-facto standard for Macintosh FTP clients. When
configuring Fetch, make sure the passive mode option is enabled.
Question: HELP!! I CAN'T GET ANY OF THIS TO WORK! I CAN'T
CONNECT TO YOUR FTP SITE, NOW WHAT DO I DO?!
Answer: Here's what you can do...
Try a different FTP Client such as
CuteFTP,
FTP Voyager.
or
WS_FTP.
Try
www.yousendit.com - a free service to allow you to send us a link to
your large file.
Try
www.fatfile.com to send us a link to your file.
Try
www.mediafire.com to send us a link to your file.
Or if you have your own web server or FTP server, you can send us the
links needed to download your files.

Windows XP
Service Pack 2 & Windows Vista Users:
If you are running XP SP2
or Vista and are having trouble connecting or logging
in to our FTP site, the built-in Windows Firewall is probably keeping
you from being able to login; this is especially true
if you are trying to connect through your browser.
Don't know if you're running Win XP SP2 (Service Pack 2) or not? Just
right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" and look there on
the General Tab under "System" and it will tell you if you are running
SP1 or SP2.
Here's what you do
to *temporarily* turn off the Windows Firewall in Win
XP so you can login:
Go to the Start Button > All Programs > Accessories > System
Tools > Security Center
Open the Security Center and the Windows Firewall will have a
green light on it most likely.
Go to bottom of that page and click "Windows Firewall" and turn
it off temporarily (don't forget to turn it back on once you're done
uploading/downloading from our FTP site).
Then, try re-connecting and logging into our FTP server.
Usually that will work. If
it doesn't, then you may be running another
software firewall or
application that is preventing you from
connecting and/or logging in. See other options above.
For
Windows Vista, simply go to the Control Panel and open up "Windows
Firewall" and temporarily turn it OFF.
Don't forget to turn it back on when you finish your upload/download
from our FTP. |
