Ken Poskey has spent a lifetime determining exactly what matters most to him as a husband, father, businessman, and a committed Christian. That quest has led him down many paths, ultimately bringing him to the place he is today...a place he could never have imagined just a few short months ago. Living a comfortable and successful life in the thriving oil and gas industry of New Mexico, Ken found great satisfaction in his work within his field of expertise as well as his position as Minister of Music at his local church. Though content with all God had placed in his hands for a time, He began to sense a feeling of unrest. God was doing something in his life. Ken wanted to be certain that he was doing what mattered most with the gifts and abilities he had been given. In July of 2000, Ken took a step of faith onto a plane bound for Nashville, Tennessee to record his first CD entitled, "Faithful & True". That first project, a collection of Ken's favorite songs, was so well received that it became obvious that God's hand was upon this young man in an exceptional way, and that the future was about to unfold before his eyes. Confirmation of God's leading was a stream of ideas for new songs to be written. Aware that he was a novice, and realizing that he needed to surround himself with proven professionals, Ken, his wife Toni, and their children, Seth and Kara, took the next big step and moved to Nashville in 2001. Working with many of Christian music's top writers and producers, Ken began what would be a year-long journey that culminated in the release of his new project, Vertical. A theme that runs throughout the project is the need for all believers to live authentic Christian lives....to be participants and not merely spectators. From his early days as a church staff member, Ken has long wondered why it is that so few do so much, and so many are content to do so little to further the Kingdom. He has successfully communicated this concern, along with his passion for personal holiness, in a collection of twelve songs that are unusually honest and musically fresh. There is little in contemporary Christian music today with such broad appeal as Vertical. As Ken will tell you, the album is not merely about music. It's about a message.
